A COMMITMENT TO TEACHERS
MNPS Director of Schools Dr. Shawn Joseph recognizes the need for quality educators in Davidson County and is working alongside the Office of Mayor Megan Barry to ensure that Metro Nashville Public Schools mirror the vitality, diversity, and prosperity of the city and fully embraces the ideals and actions of truly taking care of its people on all levels. Fortunately, in addition to a booming economy, vibrant social life, and culture of hospitality, Nashville also offers an abundance of resources to help anyone make the nation’s newest “It City” home.
There is nothing more important to helping our schools succeed than recruiting, retaining and supporting great teachers. At MNPS, we want to show our support for educators in a very intentional way, and our amazing teachers must feel valued by the community. Our new strategic plan is focused on efforts designed to strengthen and improve our schools. But, the heart and soul of Nashville’s ability to succeed in becoming the fastest-improving district in the country rests with keeping and growing the nation’s best teacher workforce.
